USB type stuff?

I'm looking for a fairly priced USB Audio Interface, that
  1. Doesn't have crappy tone,
  2. Has 2 1/4" inputs,
  3. at least 1 XLR input,
  4. and can work without software, if it includes it
I am currently using a white MacBook (the older one with a line in port) running 10.5.8 with a 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.

I want to be able to go to system preferences and set as to the input so when I record in iMovie the sound is coming from the interface.
Any suggestions?

I use the Sessions I/O interface. It came with Cubase, Guitar Rig 3, Kore player and Kore Pop Drums. The whole package was, like, $125 @ Guitar Center. I set the interface up to function as my computer`s main sound processor, replacing the sound card altogether. My speakers are plugged directly into the box. Latency is less than 10 ms (!) It has everything except a MIDI port. It`s compact and rugged. The only such device I`ve ever used, so I can`t really compare, but it is awesome - I can`t recommend it enough. The software, too. WOW ! Guitar Rig is amazing ! The best $$$ I`ve spent on music in a loooong time !
