Use for old cords and strings?

Anyone got a good use for old cords or strings?

I mean besides keeping a set around as a backup.
I've got a bunch of each and I hate to chuck them if they could be put to some use.

I've used an old E-string to unclog a drain, but looking for something a little more interesting (and less, well, yucky).

I used to make jewelry out of my used strings. I'm also a model builder and the thinner strings made great coolant hoses for engines. There are tons of uses for them.

Dead/broken strings make good cat toys. My cat will box with a string for as long as I'm willing to tease him with it.

I build models too. Coolant hoses, hawsers, cables, reefer units, detailing aircraft engines, there is tons of stuff to use them for.
