Used price on a Rickenbacker 4003S 5?

There is one for sale made in the 90's in my town. The bridge PU needs a new pot but other than that it's in great condition. He's selling it for 1400.00. Good price?

Oh and I did a search and couldn't really find anything for prices.

If the condition is as you say snatch it up.

You may have an issue playing it though.....the string spacing is a tad tight. Pick players could probably adapt OK but fingerstyle is a little more difficult IMO.

If it doesn't suit your needs you should be able to sell it and make a few bucks.

I would buy it with the intention of flipping it if the used market is right. I am actually a fan of tight string spacing. My Warwick is about 17mm spacing maybe a bit larger but I have what people refer to as "sausage fingers". Little stubby things so the fact the the Ric is narrow at the bridge is a good thing for me.

I like features on the 4003S. If I recall it has no body binding and instead of the triagle inlays it has dots, yes? The cool factor on these is high for me.

Yup and this one is Fireglo..it's a sexy looking bass. I might have to sell some stuff to get it though..might even have to sell my MID Ric to finance..

if you decide you don't like it for whatever reason, you can always sell it here and at least get back what it costs you. if there was one locally, i would buy it for that price, for sure.

And, they're not doing 5 strings right now, so at that price, it's a bargain.
