Just got a backup bass for a couple tour runs coming up- doing the whole play play play on the couch, watching TV, typing on this forum to break in the strings- I can just roll back the tone knob until they're where I want them I know- so I was out of curiosity looking online for a used set..., just a sad little handful out there- they reliced instruments, why not sell reliced (broken in) strings?

Well, used strings can't be guaranteed, so ...

But you can find used strings right here, and on eBay. For double bass - a new set of Eudoxas will set you back $800 - used strings are definitely a thing.

They sell new strings.

But seriously everyone replaces strings at different intervals so how could you know what you’re buying? If I listed my used strings nobody really knows how many hours (varies greatly), if I have sweaty, clammy hands (I don’t) or if I love fried chicken (I do).

yeah, you're right- but some wily entrepeneur could charge an extra 20$ for "broken in" strings I bet- just take them out of a package, stretch them while eating finger foods, put them back in a new package labeled "relic strings" or whatever, and watch the suckers line up!
