Double Bass Useful gear for $100 or less? (DB)

Sounds like you got everything you need for what you do. I’d second the lesson with a top pro in your area. Gear is cool and fun but if you don’t need anything it’ll prob be fun for a minute then you’ll either put it away or sell it. I just had a lesson with a top pro and the info was well worth the $100. My last lesson on DB was less than half that when I first got an upright, just to make sure I was gonna do harm to my body with bad posture, etc… . Did that for a few months before Covid. However this one lesson was just different. Knowledge to set me on a path. Kinda same boat, 20+ years on electric, a year or two on DB.

Folding two-wheeler, and several bungee cords. I can make a one-trip schlep most of the time - bass on back (yes, upright), amp on dolly, gig bag on top of amp.

This is interesting. I'm all about the one-trip schlep. Do you (or anyone) have a gig bag with backpack straps you'd recommend? I have a nice gig bag, but no way to put it on my back. Although, maybe I could use the D-rings on the sides... Or even a nice dolly / cart that could hold an upright and a small combo amp.

I found a heavy duty leather shoulder strap very useful for carrying my (flatback) DB.

Have you got a decent padded bag?

I had my bow rehaired with "salt & pepper" - a mixture of black and white hair.

I also found that using a small 12" combo did not boom.
I never needed a HPF. Less is more.

I use the side D rings with a shoulder strap, it works fine. Much easier to pick up and put down than backpack straps. Forget the cart, it’s just more to carry and load up. Since you said you have a small speaker cab (I think) you might save up a little for a used TC bam or TE Elf head, then you can put that in your gig bag and carry the speaker. That’s probably going to be the cheapest way to get to one trip portability.
