That (tempting fate) is what the phrase "taking a risk" means.

Personally, I think it is enough of a risk that I would use just the 2x12 cabinet only because it is likely that he wants to be louder and that makes it even more risky. If it is just for a quick test drive to see how the combination sounds it's probably OK.

It might be effective to just use the 1x15 box as a stand and get the 12s off the floor/stage.

Mmmmmmm.........ahhhhhhhh..........I just love the smell of a good bar-be-que, especially when it's electrical components on the grill. Oh yeah. Seared resistors are the best....nice and crunchy on the outside, yet still soft and creamy on the inside. A little Sweet Baby Ray's sauce, and it's all good!

And for dessert??..............smoked and chilled MOSFETS. YUMMMM!!!

There was a toasted mb200 thread still going last week. It hadn't been abused but GK tech support put up the suggestion that overloading it could have caused the observed frying, even though it's meant to have protection from over current.

16ohm 2x12 with the 1x15 would indeed double the power into the 15, but only 200w to go around, not a problem.

The sensitivity of the 4ohm 2x12 probably make it louder by itself.
