Using a 410 with a 210

Brothers and sisters... Does anyone know the theory (if there is one) behind using a 410 with a 210 cabinet together both rated at 8 ohms.

From my researching, some say that as long as they are both either 4ohms or 8 ohms, and not one with the other unless i have an amp that can drop to 2ohms, regardless of the speaker configurations, the same amount of power goes to all the drivers.

So if my amp that's rated at 600 @ 4ohms and both cabinets can handle at least that amount of juice, there should be no issue correct? Or do the cabinets have to be exactly alike?

Forgive me for my "ohm ignorance" here, but I'm still learning a thing or two or three!

I do it, it works. 2 4x10's would be better, because each speaker in the 2x10 gets twice the power of any speaker in the 4x10, but as long as you're careful the 2x10+4x10 is better than either cab on it's own.

You will be sending twice the power to each speaker in the 210 compared to the speakers in the 410.

My preference would be an 8 Ohm 210 with a 4 Ohm 410, or an 8 Ohm 410 with a 16 Ohm 210. In either case you would be sending the same power to each speaker.

as a word of caution, your 600 watt amp can probably put out an excess of 700-800 watts burst, you will have enough juice to toast your 210 if you are maxing everything out. Just use your ears.
