Using a GT-10B as a guitar pedal? Help!

Due to band member issues, I need to switch from bass guitar to lead guitar for a bit.

I'm not thrilled at the idea of the change, nor in purchasing a lot of new equipment. i have access to a decent guitar amp that I can use for the clean tone, and so I need an effects pedal.

Instead of spending 300 or 400 ona decent guitar processor, I was hoping to tweak my GT10B pedal to work with the guitar. Is it just plain old effects, and it should work fine? Or will it drop in too many low frequencies, etc?

I plan to go to the studio tomorrow and start playing with it (after I watch the packers lose, of course ) But I was hoping to get a little insight, experience, what to look out for, etc, from the wise minds here. Thanks!

A few more details... the style is rock n roll... Aerosmith to rage to Bon jovi.

I'll be playing a Les paul thru a Peavy 4x12 stack. I don't use the GT10b for much more than compression and a tuner/volume thanks to my sweet musicman/markbass sound... so I'm learning the pedal from scratch a bit!

I use my boss me20-b which is a bass specific multi like your gt10b for guitar all the time...all my pedals do double duty in that area..I think new gear would be a waste of your cash bro!

thanks chow. anything you had to look out for? was it really bass heavy?

I would think that the GT-10B has at least a few ways to EQ out some sub-bass when needed. I used my 6B for the same thing a long time ago, it wasn't really a problem. If you are running into a guitar amp you should be able to attenuate the bass there if needed as well. You'll find something workable pretty quick. Then make a new setting bank on the pedal for your guitar sounds so you can have quick access later on!
