I’ve used guitar amps/cabs in the past. I wouldn’t recommend it, but it can work...especially and most safely at low volumes.

Darkglass into FX Return is a good start. Bass cab would help quite a bit. The V30's are voiced with a heavy upper mids spike around 2k and roll off a bit on the lows (so things may sound a little overly glassy and thin). Lows on guitar speakers are kind of loose and boomy.

I have a 5150 Block Letter,very close to this 6505. Does not sound good on Bass, even with bass cabs. I tried it.
I also had a 71 Super Bassman 100, totally different animal, sounds great for both Bass and Guitar

The old Fender bassman amps were great for guitar

man don't listen to these folks about bass being terrible through a guitar amp (guitar sounds terrible through a bass amp because they're too hifi in my opinion)
one of my favorite bass tones is from a peavey rockmaster preamp and classic 120 power amp, basically a peavey ultra or xxx in rack form
what i found key was playing through the clean gain channel with the master dimed and channel volume used to adjust the overall volume. gives an svt-like pushed tube sound
I've played it through the mg-series 4x12 with the cheapo g12l-35 speakers and it's sounded fine

I'd be interested to hear the results with a 6505 through proper bass cabs. I've tried the power amp section of my VHT through my bass cabs but don't have a preamp to run in front, and it doesn't play well with my pedals; the EQ of the VHT's preamp section is all wrong for bass, sounds terrible no matter what. My main bass head is a Traynor YGL-3A guitar head from the 70s, though, and I love it.

Much better to have an amp than be dependent on someone else's PA everywhere you go, IMO.

There are a lot of used 410 bass cabs under $100 at guitar center so I might just get a Hartke or Kustom or something. I have two 412 v30 cabs and could run it as a full stack, but I only wanted to risk 1 cab in case something went wrong.

The amp head actually has a good amount of bass... I'm not going through the 6505 preamp, just going in thru the fx loop return, and using the power amp section. The cabs sound treble-y tho so I cut the highs a bit on the b7k. I just wasn't sure what the risks were besides farting out and destroying the speakers.

I just tried the OD808 tube screamer and it def cuts/neuters the bass. Almost sounds like a down tuned guitar with that b7k distortion. I'm playing a 5 string in B standard. In my last band, I was playing thru their Hartke 3500 bass head and some old beat up dusty PA floor wedge and it actually sounded way better than it looked.

Since your playing a 5-string, there is even more risk to the 412. I would be fine at low volume, but there will be limits to how loud you can play and how much bass you can dial in. I would be 100% confident with two full stacks with one amp. But I think pushing your full stack hard is risky, and running only 1 cab hard is a guaranteed recipe for blown drivers.

An important factor you need to consider if you want giggable volume is the cab's sensitivity. 120W will actually be pretty loud with your full stack, although it won't have full low end. If you buy a cheap, budget 410, chances are the sensitivity is going to be fairly low. If this is the case, you will not get much volume, so it's sort of a waste of your money. I suggest you do some research before you hit the buy button.
