using a presonous tube pre with line 6 xt

Has anyone tried going in to a tubepre from your guitar, then into a line 6 xt pod, then out of the pod into the board via balanced inputs?

I'm recording direct into a standalone digital workstation and I was wondering if that might warm it up a bit.
