using GT 6B

hey, I am planning on using my boss gt 6b to aid in recording. we had previously recorded some of the bass with the DI from my GK backline 600 head, but it sounded too lifeless. so we are rerecording, and I was wondering if I should be thinking about the DI from the boss, or going straight into the return of my amp head an mic'ing the cab (backline 4x10)

would it be better to get the better cab modeling from the boss DI, or the real thing mic'd up

as an ad on, the sound I am trying to open is a slightly gritty rock tone, I have it pretty dialed in on the GT, just want to make it come alive on the recording (it sounds very good live)
we also have plenty of quality mic's

thanks

I'd recommend doing both if possible, and then mix the two to taste during mixdown. You can take the SPDIF digital out of the GT6B to the SPDIF in of your recorder, presuming that it has one, and run the regular line to the amp/cab and then mic it up.

do you mean the lines out, send the mono(l) to the amp and the right to the desk?

how would i configure it so that one is wet and the other completly dry (which would be the bypass)

thanks so much
