I have an Earthquaker Afterneath and it sounds great- Unfortunately it seems to drop a little volume when engaged (this might just be a perception thing, as it muddies things a little and cuts highs). I've found the best way to use reverb an avoid this is to put it into the loop of my Superego. It's not affecting my dry tone, but it's creating a layer underneath that creates the same effect. Best with a pitchshifter too- I use a Pitch Bay with the high up and the dry cut back quite a bit.
If I can't be arsed with the faff, it's easier to just use my Boss Tera Echo. Even when set to more reverb-y settings, it's still much clearer.
