Using speakers outside of a cab?

Instead of a square cab that may not support the weight of the speaker, how about a tube cabinet? I've seen some auto subs designed around tubes.

That way, the tube/speaker could lay on the ground and be self-supporting.

Maybe some TB'r knows about large cardboard tubes (from carpet rolls or other such industrial size applications).
Or some generous TB'r can put together a cab from scraps for the OP'r and ship it to him.

You have no friends with wheels???? I have a crappy 2x10 cabinet that I threw together a while ago. Plus 2x 10" MTX subwoofers to go in it. Not wonderful but if you wire the MTX units in series for 8Ω it'll give you something to play through until you build a proper cab for your 12. Again no charge.

Bassman Paul. Thanks very much man. I'll try convincing my brother, and my dad ( so he can allow my bro to take the car, heck if its free he might go himself knowing him) and let you know. but it won't be happening today since there's carribana going on correct?
