USPS Sucks!!! (Slow...)

Someone shipped some pedals to me, and it was sent last Thursday earlier in the day... If I were to drive to the guy's house and pick the stuff up, it would be 8 hours round trip. Monday evening, and it's still not here... No wonder they are losing business to the other shippers. Their "tracking" system is abysmal at best, too. Ugh.

My whole issue is I could have driven there and back home in 8-9 hours. That's a generous estimate. I do like that UPS has at least a better tracking system, as does FedEx. All the carriers can get a bit sketchy at times. I'm hoping they are just slow on this one.

Um then why didn't you? :smug:

Seriously, For the amount of mail that they handle...they are pretty fast. You also are having an oblong shaped package delivered. I.E. Not a letter, so that slows things down a bit.

Although, I did get my Audere preamp that I ordered on Friday...today!!! using USPS!!!

I only use USPS to ship T Shirts, hats and other non expensive items. USPS Priority gets my T-Shirts to Kalifohnia in 3 days max. Within the southeast, ONE DAY!! Knives, firearms, basses and anything requiring insurance goes FEDEX within the US or DHL outside the US. I ship almost everyday and that's what works best for me. It's almost impossible to collect an insurance claim from USPS, if you do it will never be for 100% of the insured amount

That would be relevant if shipping companies operated by sending the closest truck to the shipping address of each and every package and then drove it straight to the delivery address to drop it off.

Obviously, they need to collect shipped items near where they're collected for temporary holding and processing before transferring them to other locations near where they're being shipped to before they can be delivered. That takes time and it's unavoidable.

Oh, I know that stuff is sent as they get a truck coming this way. Anyways, it got here today, and I am so happy!!!

Yeah, USPS is slow and they suck blah blah blah. It couldn't be the sheer volume of mail delivered every day. Our post office alone handled over 600k pieces of LETTER mail alone last week. That's not including magazines, boxes of checks and your pedals.[/rant] The problem and one we see often is that people say the package has been shipped yet a lot of them say they were too busy to get it in the mail so it's going out today, I promise! The USPS isn't perfect, but neither are the customers who think they know how the postal system works.

Gas is a terrible thing. Just be patient and it will come.;)

Glad you finally got them. Were the pedals in one piece?
