UX1 and Audacity

My first attempt at recording as brought me to wanting to use a free recording software instead of the one that came with my Line 6 tone port package.

How do I set up my audacity to be able to use gear box and my toneport UX1?

When I plug my UX1 in I can't open audacity and I can't find a setting that will allow me to use these 2 products.

Any help would be great

Thanks

When i record with audacity, i plug my tuner out into my microphone in
In audacity click edit, at the bottom is preferences (ctrl+p) should open up in audio I/O theres your recording and playback. Depending on where your UX1 is plugged in you can choose it from there.
If none of the selections work, try going into your microphones mixer and turning on alternative mic. Thats what i did to get it working. :)
Good luck

i was under the impression neither vista nor xp64 was supported by the toneport UX1 or UX2 because line 6 is gay and never bothered to write drivers for 64 bit operating systems...i was going to purchase one recently and did not purchase a UX1 because of this if you go to line6's forums they have a ton of people bitching about it on their forums....unless they finally did =x

Why bother with 64-bit there is no need for it in 98% of the world. 64-bit is a big marketing slime. 64-bits is necessary if you are running more than 8GB of RAM and need the address space, or you are dealing in simulations or high finance and need 64 bits of numerical accuracy. Add to that the few programs compiled for 64-bit. Anyone who needs that much RAM or numerical accuracy probably isn't running XP or Vista. It's kind of like those guys that put a wing on the back of and old Nissan Sentra, might look cool, but what is it actually doing for ya?

Let's not be mean here. My Sentra rocked, and it's the only car I've ever owned that would do 135 mph!

i have a 64 bit processor and it raised my fps when i was playing competitive shooters thereby increasing my performance because most of the game designers wrote drivers for 64 bit OS'. of course since you're obviously a smartass trying to start an unrelated argument lets start arguing over how the human eye doesn't register any fps over 60 but the brain can process fps over 60 with ease :P oh and this is chewbacca and he is a wookie.

don't try to defend line 6 for being too ****ing cheap to spend half a week writing the drivers :P
