Double Bass Vagn Holmboe solo sonata

Hey all of you! I was just wondering if anyone in here has played Vagn Holmboe's sonata for double-bass solo?

I borrowed a copy from my teacher, but haven't had much time to look at it. It seems like a cool piece of music though. I guess it's not that well-known.. I probably wouldn't have come across it if I wasn't Danish myself. Maybe you guys should check it out, if you're looking for some solo rep.

Some pieces are popular for a time and then fall out of favor. I've seen this piece, and have seen it listed as repertoire for competitions and schools. Here's a site that has a sample of the first page.

Hi!

It's a fun piece to play, lots of character interesting music, and not too difficult to play. I know that very many students here in Norway plays it.
