Valeton Bass Dapper

Let me know your thoughts.

Wow, I think it sounded pretty good! I just wonder about the build quality I guess on these things. Their site says the octave is analog; how about the other things?

I agree with you on having the octave and filter separated. Wish you could turn down the peak/Q on the filter, but maybe that was also a function of the hot bass you had going into it.

Yeah, it's more of a bass ballz type thing. Reminds me of my mooer sweeper, which is a ballz. Still usable tho. IMHO, this one is much more usable than the bass fly rig was. If you look at my other videos, two are about things I didn't like on the fly rig. Ironically, when I sent those videos to sweetwater, they assumed my unit was defective. Nope, that's what T21 meant for it to do. I'll see about getting a quick one with a P bass this evening.

Back when the earth was cooling, those of us with the original OC-2 were happy to get it to low D. This goes lower than that. I'm happy with the octaver. Overall, I'm happy with this unit. If you have any other questions or suggestions for stuff with this one, post them. I have tons of other stuff to do over the next few weeks.

Thanks Lee! You saved me some dough... I don't think it sounds bad at all, but I don't think it is a significant difference from the zoom stuff I already have.

The envelope filter definitely is not my taste though, I've yet to ever hear where a bass balls works in any song (besides sir psycho sexy but the chance of me ever needing to do that song live is very very small). For "can't stop the feeling" that's the wrong kind of envelope filter and that song still is on every gig. It's a fun one to play anyway so that doesn't upset me!

I thought the amp section didn't make a huge difference but the overdrive was very nice, I could see it being used for that.

And thank you for avoiding Rush licks this time ;)

Thank you Lee! I'm currently using a Line6 POD XTlive. The effects for Envelope filter seem to work on my bass. Still trying to tweak the xtlive. My bass sounds great direct only using a tube comp ( USA/ART Tube Comp ) from the late 90's. My active bass has active EMG's DC and CS 40's with the BQC system. I'm running it at 18v. I'm trying not to color my direct sound. But at times we play Dream Theater songs and we don't have Keyboards, so bass synth is cool. ;) For those moments. So I'm always looking to put something in the chain. But every time I do, I lose my awesome direct sound. Fortunate that I play in a band that we all use IEM. Wish me luck as I tweak my xtlive to be uncolored. :)
I appreciate your reviews!
