Valeton GP200 VS Sonicake Matribox 2

Valeton and Sonicake are the same company, so I would assume that they’re fairly similar under the hood. That said, the GP-200 has been around for a while and the Matribox 2 is brand new, so it might be a newer generation processor/software. They have the same amp/cab models, though, and I don’t see any real difference between their effects lists.

The hardware of the Valeton looks better to me: more footswitches, XLR outs. That alone would push the Valeton to the front for me. I used to have a GP-100 and, while nowhere near the league of these two, impressed me for the price.

I saw some youtube videos where they say GP-200 produces a costant background noise especially when the AMP is on (-50db).

I wonder if Matribox 2 has the same problem?

From here Matribox 2 seems good:

P.S. Are Valeton and Sonicake the same company? Really?

Well, that would be shame. I don’t really know the context here. I think that’s Italian? What amp sim was that on?

Yes. And Hotone as well. So the Ampero is probably also related to both of these.

Yes it is, however there are subtitles. He says that the problem occurs with every amp also showing why it depends on the device and not on its personal connection. He also says that without the amp the background noise is reduced a lot but doesn't disappear completely.

Italian review of Valeton is an accurate test, while the review of Sonicake is more a kind of product placing video. So, about Matribox 2, is better to know the opinion of someone who has tried it directly.
In my personal opinion, I don't like on Matribox 2 the fact that it is available only with the expression pedal while the Valeton GP-200 has the LT variation without it. Also, Valeton's pc software seems much better.
However, if Matribox 2 hardware is silent, without the background noise of the Valeton GP-200, it should be better.

I see regular Valeton GP-200 (not lt) and Valeton GP-200JR have the ground lift button (which Valeton GP-200LT hasn't) and maybe it can prevent background hiss and noise.

On Matribox 2 there is no ground lift option
