Vancouver Olympics Discussion

That Australian/Canadian guy is an arrogant BUTTCHEEZE. I was wanting to SCHMACK him through the TV  He needs to take some lessons from Shaun White on how to be successful without being an twit.

I agree, he can stay in Australia as far as most Canadians are concerned.

As to the hats while the anthem is playing, I don't recall any Canadian protocol regarding that. I think it is more of an American thing (or at least that is what US TV has taught me :))

I have been to a few events, got tickets to a couple more. It is a fun party happening in Vancouver, lots of atmosphere (despite what news reports may be saying).

My 21 year old daughter gets a kick out of curling! Go figure.

I always enjoy the downhill, and the new snowboardcross is pretty cool. It's a lot like short strack speed skating on snowboards - people keep taking each other out.

I looked up Franz Klammer's 1976 downhill run at Kitzbuhl and watched it on YouTube. To this day, it's the greatest downhill run I have ever seen. He was on or over the edge of control the entire run. This video starts with a lot of crashes...

Because it involves the movement of heavy balls?:eyebrow:

Anyway. Women's cross country sprint victory!!! First gold for Norway so far. As long as we don't bust like we did in Torino I guess I should be happy. Problem is I remember Salt Lake so well, and it is hard to forget those olympics for a Norwegian :p

Shaun White and Lindsey Vonn's performances yesterday were just spectacularly dominating and a total joy to watch.

When it was confirmed that Vonn had won the gold, she just exploded with tears of joy and relief that all hard work and pain was all worth it.

Yeah Lindsey Vonn was really cool to watch. Am I the only one that thought those screams of joy were what she might sound like in the sack? :ninja::hiding:

how much I miss carving big, fast arcs down a steep slope

I love doing carved turns, though it makes my thigh muscles really burn after a while. At the end of the day I know I've had a good workout. It's been a while for me, too, and watching the downhill events feeds the hunger.

She could crush me with those big muscular thighs of hers any time! :) Vonn and Mancuso are both pretty easy to look at.

Back when I was racing bikes, I had the stength and fitness to push pretty hard on skis, too. Man, I miss that.

Other than mogul skiing, I ALWAYS cruised on 215cm Super G's. I had a friend that worked in the industry and I'd always put in an order for 2 pairs. No matter what the conditions, they smoothed everything out and went damn fast. If I was partying a bit too much, just pointed them down the hill and they went like I was on rails. It bit hard to manage in the lift line but everything has it's drawbacks :D

Yes. I like those shapely legs. Same with many of the female figure skaters (Tanith Belbin!!!).

I grew up playing ice hockey (yes, in So Cal), and spending a lot of time at ice rinks, I quickly developed a fondness for figure skater chicks and their shapely thighs. I've been known to watch women's figure skating with my wife on occasion. I don't think we watch for the same reasons, though. ;)

I hope to see more great things from Vonn in the upcoming events. She's quite an amazing athlete.

Also agree. He used to ski for Canada but his coaches wanted more training less computers out of him. He got his pout on and headed for Austrailia.

Shaun White looks like he is having the time of his life and truly honored to be at the Olympics. The way it should be. No matter how much money is in his bank account.

LOL, I can relate to that.

I grew up skating and playing hockey, too, but it was always outdoors on frozen ponds. Unfortunately, it didn't usually coincide with opportunities to admire girls' legs. ;)
