I own a Vantage 725B (the first bass I purchased, about 15 years ago). I don't use this bass to gig with, just to monkey around with while I'm at home. Mine started its life as a fretted model, but after a year of playing, I had my local guy yank the frets out, and that's how it's lived ever since.
Mine's a translucent green colour, but the body styling is the same. Not sure what kind of wood it is, but it's really light. What I know about the construction is that they're made in Korea. Seems to be a standard 34" scale. The string spacing at the nut is that of a P-Bass, but the neck radius is much bigger than that of a P neck (the neck itself is not very deep -- a very shallow profile). The neck itself is quite comfortable to play, which is probably why I haven't ditched it.
As for the electronics, it's a passive P-J setup. One volume control and tone knob for each pickup. I'm contemplating a mod by gutting the electronics and replacing with something nicer so that I can actually use it on a job one day.
The bridge is...well...a bridge. As far as it being "high mass", it's certainly got more mass to it than a Fender bridge, but less than, say, a Badass.
The tuners are Gotoh-style. The headstock is angled back. As far as neck condition, YMMV, but mine is nice and straight, even after having the frets removed.
Overall, I think the Vantage stuff, for the price, is decent. I wouldn't go and gig on this bass tomorrow because the electronics could use an upgrade, but for something to have kicking around, it certainly does the trick. $200 would go a long way to upgrade this into something that would be usable. Again, though, your mileage may vary. Maybe I got a gem, and the advertised one's a lemon.
