Vaporwave Bass Effects Superthread

Okay...one of the first vaporwave songs I've heard was that song on this thread.
How do you get this effect?
And the other was that simpsons remix I've looked up on youtube. or at least it was classified to be vaporwave.
It's kinda of weird, but pretty cool in some ways. I personally like retrowave. this genre sounds like it came from the 80s, but it's actually from 2010. here are some examples of retrowave in case you're wondering.

Yeah, simpsonswave is maybe more ambient, probably closer to retrowave.
Really?...indeed it is ambient, but when I think of retrowave, I think of the songs I've posted earlier. and these awesome tunes.
These are good examples of vaporwave. It gets stale p quick
That adidas logo makes this kind of like an artsy model undercover slavic squat.

And this stuff seems to be made mostly in the studio. Basically bass amp and speakers are way more irrelevant than the studio gear. What you need would be maybe the pedal effects and definitely daw and good set of monitors.

Wow! I actually got one thing right now. My guitar player wants to make a solo record after we finish with my fiancees record, and it is going to be totally retrowave. He got some demo versions of the songs already. Now I've got a nice name for the poop we are going to make. Just wow.
Could we add retrowave in the discussion? It would help me a lot in that project. And they are really close to each other.
I am like the most stupid studio owner of the world. None of the projects I take actually brings money in.

For the retrowave project I've been planning on using basically two basic sounds. First is a fretted bass trough the gk clone pedal with the mid scoop switch ON. I probably mostly slap with the fretted bass. Compressor on naturally, but I really don't know what else I could add ro that sound.
The other one is fretless with some tacky chorus, and no mid scoop. The fretless needs high mids a lot. Compressor with the limitter side of, with the fretted bass I totally want the limitter on. I think the Zoom pedals I have could give me all the tacky modulation I need.
So what do you think? Anything worth adding to these? I'm really open for any suggestions. I could also do a lot of effects in daw. With that money is not a huge issue. A lot of effects are available as freeware.

Look up GlitchMachines, they have two quite wacky effect plugins that are free, Fracture and Hysteresis. Bassically destroys your sound in various ways.

Thanks! Both seem very potential tools. Not just for the retrowave project. I've got couple of other projects these could be really handy as well.

I am having greta success with the wonderlove with the expression filter. On the Minilogue at least, it adds another dimension on top of the existing filters. Adding some kind of filter you can control would be cool, so maybe the Manta? Do you have an expression pedal for it?

I still need to buy the hub for the Manta. Its just been too expensive for me to justify it to myself.

I listened some retrowave stuff for reference material, and they all seem to have super wide stereo image. Stereo expander plugin is a must for mixing.

Yeah, and twice as expensive as the old one. Black paint must cost a ton. I've been hunting for a used one. Someone just have to get bored with it and sell it at some point.
