As our Variax basses get older with each passing year and parts are becoming a little more difficult to find it's imperative that we give our basses as much day to day protection as possible. I do appreciate that Line 6 provided each of our basses with a nice gig bag with a couple of big side pockets when they left the factory. But my gig bag is starting to show its age, so it was time to find a new case for my 705.
After looking at lots of different case manufacturers websites and checking out the specs of their products I found a couple of cases that fit the Variax 705 perfectly. Both are Gator cases. One is their regular everyday case model GWE-BASS and the other was their Flight case model G-TOUR-BASS which costs approximately $350.00 a good investment if you're planning on putting your bass in the hands of an airline or shipping company at anytime in the future.
I have no such plans so I bought the GWE-BASS case for my V705 and as you can see in the photo below the bass fits perfectly in it. Lots of protection and piece of mind for under $100.00 dollars.
