Varitone Switch...anybody use em ?

I came accross this, and it does sound promising. I'm still in the "planning" stages for a project bass and was thinking about one of these.

FWIW:

never had or saw one but they've been around forever and I guess were kind of like a passive preamp. Seems some of them had a passive bass control using a choke.

I don't have exactly that switch, but my old Aria Pro II SB-1000 has something very similar. If has 6 or 7 positions, honestly I only found 2 or 3 of them that useful.
