Venting about my Ex

So about 2 months ago my girlfriend and i had a mutual breakup. We had dated for 2 years. We broke up on relativly good terms, it was just that we had both grown apart and had pretty different interests by the end of the relationship. But i still would like to hang out with her as friends and ever since shes been interested in this new dude shes been treating me like chopped liver. I dont know if i should keep atemping to keep a friendship between us or just tell her to fu*k off. If she really cant take the time to hang out with someone she was best friends with for 2 years, maby its time to completly let go. Bitch.

I was in a similar boat, and in the end it just wasn't worth it. We had grown apart, and because of this, the need to associate disappeared. We still hung out on the premise of being friends, but really we just needed to stop so we could get on with other friends (and sig. others). I thought that I'd be sad removing her from my life, but wasn't in any way at all...

Its weird, I think the "good terms" break up is a bigger pain than the giant fight kind.

I agree with jucas. Breaking up and "still being friends" is much harder to deal with than a huge knockout dragout fight and never talking to each other again. The best thing is to move on. Or don't and get her back. Just don't hang in the middle, it doesn't work.

I'll give you the same advice that I give everyone who posts something like this, through a picture.

HUTTAH!

Seriously, if that doesn't get the point across, you're screwed.

Stop hanging out with her. Don't call her. Don't e-mail her. Just let it go, and hang out with other friends. Go places, do fun stuff with your buddies, and let yourself be open to new people.

You know, her new boyfriend is probably not too happy about her still hanging out with you, and I'd imagine he doen't want to hang with you, either. That may have a lot to do with how she's acting.

So...don't pursue it. If you're meant to stay friends, you'll connect again in the future. If not...c'est la vie, c'est la guerre, c'est l'amour, cher.

Dude, get a rebound girlfriend, they are great!!! Your not gonna keep her for long so you can get someone really skanky and just enjoy it!!!!

Nothin like a skanky trailer chick who looks like shes done some internet porn to help you forget about a "normal" chick who has jacked you over. :hyper:

Just double bag that puppy

*** is all this "let's be friends"-bullsh!t? You broke up with her for a reason - I don't want to be "friends" with my exes, and I'm definately not keen on the idea of girls I'm with hanging out with their exes if it's a serious relationship.

That was a rapid-fire vent on my behalf.

Yes i guess you guys are bringing up some good points. I guess i just wont have her be my Elaine Bennis as i would have liked. Im sure once i find someone else i am interested it will be easier to forget about her. Its kind of a bummer though because me and her old man became friends in the process helping eachother on woodworking stuff. But i guess everything with trying to be friends with her will be obsolite when she drops out of college next semester and moves to california to become a bum. I guess she just hasnt figured out that life has priorities other than getting stoned and going to see jam bands.

You will be better served if you never try to make real life imitate Seinfeld............it just doesn't work.
