Versatile volume pedal

I've searched for an asnwer but I haven't found it so this is would I would like to know:
Is there a volume pedal that doesn't get affected by the number or type of effects in your chain?

I know I like volume swells but I would like to experiment them with other effects so I really don't know where I should put the volume pedal (when I get it) thats why I need a volume pedal that works anywhere in the chain

I use a Visual Volume Pedal. I have connected with my svt400t head which doesn't have a mute button. It is worth checking out.

Don't know how much this will help but I have the standard ernie ball volume pedal and put it first so it's just like turning the volume knob on my bass but keeps both hands free don't know how it would work anywhere else in the chain but on their website they have a couple of different kind with different rated pots in them but I can't remember the difference

Depends on your bass.

Post-effect a low impedance volume pedal will work better, and if you have an active bass you can also get good results with a low impedance pedal. If your bass is passive you'll need a high impedance volume pedal, but using a high impedance pedal in the middle of your chain will not provide great results.

A workaround for passive basses is to put a buffered tuner (or effect) at the beginning of the chain, then you can use the low impedance volume pedal anywhere after it.
