Double Bass Vertical stands for DB?

Hey all, I live in a tiny apartment, and am always scrounging for space. I currently use the Hercules stand, which works fine, but doubles the amount of space my DB takes up.

So, I'm wondering how well the fully vertical bass stands work. There are two I'm looking at, an affordable one from Thomann, and a more expensive one from Golihur. I'm open to other similar stands.

I also have a Yamaha EUB, and will never have more than 1 DB while living in this apartment. I don't think a multi-stand will save space in this instance, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Another thought: I use a wooden box with some hand holes on the stage (for me, it was DIY, but this might not too hard to find in the right size) -- you can put a lot of things (cables, preamp, ...) into it for transport purposes, and the bass sits there quite stable (as long as noone bangs into it). I beveled the edges a bit and put some tape on it to protect the bass. I sawed the front/back sides along the shape of the bass. Height of the box is so that I can put the bass in without retracting the end pin.

At home, I have a similar thing, but instead of a box, I used four bars between front and back sides (more precisely, the bars rest on front and back side resp are beneath them) -- top bars are tilted, so no need for any beveling there.
