Very Disappointing Warwick...

I had recently made up my mind to purchase a RockBass Fortress fretless in HP black, my first brand new Bass in over 25 years...

I am new to Warwick products, having been out of the music scene for several years, and only in the last 2 years or so become aware of your fine products...

After searching the internet, both American and European based webshops, I was informed that not only do you not make a fretless Fortress model anymore, even if I could find one I couldn't get a hard case for it...

I don't understand why you would discontinue such a beautiful, and by all accounts very nice playing/sounding Bass (but keep that incredibly ugly and poorly balanced Corvette, played one at a local shop a couple of months ago, loved the neck hated everything else)...

I am now having an existential dilemma... do I buy a Streamer that I can't get a case for, or go with a different brand that I definitely won't be as excited about (but can get proper protection for)?

decisions, decisions...

I was told (by the guys at BassCentral) that I can get a flight case, for about half the price of the Streamer... seems a bit excessive, although if I could get a good enough deal somewhere I might just go for it...

ABS bass case from GC for around $100
1.5" Pic 'n pluck HD foam sheet for about $35
Problem solved.

Yes, that is what I did with my Streamer.

I'm not sure where your info is coming from but I'm happy to step in here. Fretless Rockbass Fortress are still available. Link is below where you can purchase one direct. Same with the hard case. This instrument should fit in the Rockcase in the link below and I know for sure it will fit in one of our flight cases. Jon here is your man to communicate with. I deal with him pretty much every month. ( I keep banging up my old Warwicks ) My incredibly ugly and poorly balanced Corvette has been setup at his Nashville shop and plays like melted butter. Veryyyy low action and sustain!! Many useable tones and sounds - I am very pleased. Try a different Corvette - one that's been taken care of and played by someone who has cared for it. You may find one you love as I do mine.
