Double Bass Vibration in strings?

I keep hearing a vibration whenever i pizz open A and open G.
I put my ear to the bass and am hearing it primarily from the fingerboard/string area. i hold down the tailpiece and it doesn't really alleviate the problem.
Anyone get this before? are my spirocores bad?

It could be one of several things. The source is not always obvious from listening directly to one region of the bass. It could be the nut slots are filed too low, part of the afterlength of the string up in the pegbox is rubbing up against something, a seam open, even the fingerboard coming loose a bit from the neck. That's the short list I usually look at to chase down a buzz. Sometimes noises like this pop up and then disappear just as suddenly...

I had that problem on open G. It was a nut groove thing. Slip a bit of card under the string at the nut groove and see if that stops the buzz. I lived with a bit of paper under the G for two years before I could be bothered fixing it properly.

But, could be anything. Do a search there's a whole bunch of threads on locating buzzes
