Until I stumbled upon this video I was having trouble quickly switching from arco to pizz, and vice-versa. I couldn't decide on the best position for the bow in the hand while playing pizz, so my transitions were always abrupt and definitely felt awkward. This helped smooth things out for me, and after about a week of using the technique, it's incredibly fluid, and has become second nature. Pretty cool! Hope this video is helpful to someone else out there. Cheers!

Thanks. Great video! It is not so easy as it looks though. Placing your first finger in front of the bow feels awkward at first. Also not touching the string with the hair when playing pizz is hard at first. Playing with index en middle finger before the bow is also hard. I still prefer the two finger behind the bow technique for that. Feels more like playing without the bow to me.
But I have to give that new 'finger in front of the bow' technique some time.

Agreed, it felt a little clumsy and uncomfortable at first, but became surprisingly natural after only about a week or 2. Just stick with it!
