Vintage modified Jazz bass wiring problem

Rolandm, my issue with the setup is the action. It's not a major deal but its about 1mm higher than I normally like it. Currently it measures about 3mm from the top of the 12th fret to the underside of the E string. When I go any lower than that the higher frets get very buzzy! Can I expect to achieve a lower action from anybodies experience with these VMJ's?

Noiseguy, I understand your procedure (I think) ill have to pick up some clips and wire ASAP and give it a shot! Thanks for the suggestion

Yes you can get a lower action, but you are going to have to take the bass in for a fret job. It is understandable at the price point these basses sell at, that they wont have top notch fretwork out of the factory.

Agreed. Although mine's pretty close to that. A fret job will level it all out and get you down where you want it to be.
