Vintage Rickenbacker 4005 volume output

I have just bought a 1967 4005 I noticed that the toaster pickups have a very weak output volume compared to other ricks... Is it normal? I mean it sounds good but i had to raise the volume from 2 to 6 on my mesa amp to have more or less the same output than a rick 4001c64s...

I had a '67 4005WB for 38 years; the output did not seem unusually low, that I recall.

I may be late to respond, but I have a true to the original 4005 replica and putting Dane Wilder's wiring harness with Vintage Tone Control made all of the difference to the low end and tonal options. I've never had a complaint about the output, however. I just turn up the input gain (Berg Forte HP) and the volume!
