I recently checked out a video of the eko 995 and really like the sound. (This one in particular : Invalid Link Removed)
Being totally unexperienced with these kind of basses, I was wondering if there are any modern basses that sound something like that. I am not sure whether I have to look for that kind of pickups in another bass, or for a short scale bass, or for a semi-hollow bass, and, by the way I don't even know how being semi-hollow could affect the sound if there is no piezo picking up the sound.
Any tips on what I have to look for to get that kind of sound on a modern bass?
