I have a question. I am bidding on a 1970 Fender bassman 100 head. What would be a good cab for this amp. How about a Fender Bassman 115? This will be a practice amp. Mobass

Any 4 ohm cab or 2 - 8 ohm cabs will do. If you use an 8 ohm cab, you'll get less volume.

According to the review, it has a line out. Possibly run it to a power amp with 2 ohms and buy whatever cabs you like.

good info and all, but ..... umm, I think the OP was talking about a 70's era Bassman 100 head, not the newer combo.

as far as cabs suggestions for the Bassman 100, I personally would look for a EV TL606 based 1x15 loaded with either an EV 15, or a JBL D140. The Mesa diesel 1x15 is a great example of this design. You can also find DIY versions built from the EV specs. That's a very nice combination IME/IMO, with a pretty round and full tone, but not a ton of highs.
