Vinyl LP Crackle

Does such a pedal exist that can reproduce the crackling sound of an old vinyl record?

You could load a sample of it into a looper and hit that. That's about all I could think of.

That's what first sparked my interest but I traded the Timeline.

I'm thinking looped sample too. Some pedals are out there that degrade your sound, but they won't give you the same feel. Those vinyl sounds are made mechanically from the needle, not electronically, so there's virtually no way an electronic circuit can make them.

Well, it's a plug-in, but if you ever decide to run with a laptop in your rig, use this:

Then as a cool trick, use a gate as well and it'll only sound when you play, just as if your bass parts are cut-up samples

because if my memory serves its the same effects section off of the SP303 which DEFO has it

I checked out some YouTube vids and none of the settings seemed to do this. Either it was too subtle for me to hear or the overdrive might have completely masked it.

That Hexe pedal was cool though. That's pretty much what I was looking for!

The BOSS VF-1 is a half-rack unit, though it has external pedal controls. But it does have a great LOFI effect that includes an analog vinyl effect. Not to mention a good bitcrusher, and a slew of other totally usable effects. I own two, but have never really figured out how to integrate them into a pedalboard-only setup.

+1 on the Ineko. But I think an effect like this needs to be across the entire mix to be, well, effective, so I agree with K2000.

In all reality it's probably not something I would use in a live band setting and if I was recording I could just add that sound via ProTools. I just think it would be neat to screw around with though.
