Vocal / Bass Blend

We use the Bose towers, so we are a little short when it comes to inputs. I sing on 2 songs in a 4 hour gig and have borrowed the lead singers microphone for those 2 songs. I would like to have my own microphone, but we don't have enough inputs.

I plug my sansamp into the bose towers to get my bass in the mix. Is it possible for me to get, say, an LS-2 and get my vocals in the mix? Or should I get a lo-impedance splitter? a mini mixer?

Long story short: I want my vocals and bass to take up one XLR input on the "soundboard". What do you suggest?

i suggest forgetting about it. bass and vocals have completely different needs and should never be blended into the same channel.

I agree, mixing them to the same channel won't give you good results. Then again...it's only two songs. If you want to test it out, just get one of those cheap mini Behringer mixers and stick it between your vox/bass and the Bose input. Then you can control the volume of bass vs vocals and do some very minor tone shaping via the mixer channels.

Would it work if I had a mixer? Vox into channel 1, bass in ch 2 and output going to the Bose.

if you had a sub mixer, yes, you could do that.

Seems like your rig should be able to handle your gig on it's own. Or maybe upgrade your rig and have your own mic/input.
