My Shure Beta 87C crapped out this last summer tour. I am thinking about the $110 repair cost to Shure or if I should sink that money into another mic. I looked at a Neumann KMS 105 (But that is $500 used) which I have used in the past and I really like them. I was told the Sennheiser D935, but I think those might be a little on the cheapy side. I want to put it out there that I also all ready have both Beta and non-beta SM58 and SM57's. My band uses Beta 58's for their vocal mic's, but I really liked the 87C for it's warmth and power.
Suggestions? I am looking for an idea as to stay with the 87C and have it repaired by Shure or to buy a new a little more higher end mic to give me that little bit more. I do not sing much lead these days, but I do sing about 90% of our harmonies.
