An rare matticus sighting.
I got the voicelive play 2G to fatten up my backing vocals in a band I was in where I was the only backup singer and I was having to sing falsetto. The first gig I took it to the sound man wouldn't let me use it because he thought the settings would mess with the monitors and cause feedback. I ended up sending it back because it had a few glitches.
I've been slowly working in a TC H1 to live sets, mainly when I have the occasional solo or duo gig. It's pretty cool on a few settings. My favorites are third above, third and fifth above and third above and below, depending on the song and the range I'm singing. I really dig it. I'm very insecure on stage alone. Listening to one person singing for extended periods gets old. I love vocal harmony. It's not the same as singing with others but, like a drum machine, in some ways it's better. I like to barely blend in the harmonies so it just fattens things up on the chorus, bridge, etc. Why should guitarists have all the pedal fun?
Here's a couple of clips from last weekend at a poorly attended but paying outdoor festival. The first one was using the third above and kicks in around the 2 minute mark. The second uses the third and fifth above at around 1 minute.
