Our guitar guy actually brought a Voicelive Play to a rehearsal yesterday. Works without plugging in an instrument, but I was a bit disappointed how it sounded. The harmonies were muddy sounding - but the reverb and echo was okay

That’s why you have to get in and modify the presets. It all depends on what you need to get out of it. It’s not a cure all

Right, it's not just plug and play - I hope our lead guitarist take the time to adjust the Play, and get it to sound good
