Volume difference!

How can I solve the difference in volume between my 2 basses? I have a P-bass and a Schecter Stiletto. The P sounds best with volume on full, but that is much louder (in passive input) than my Schecter is on full volume (plugged into active input).

Is there a way to dampen the volume on my P without losing my tone or touching amp settings? Seems like there would be a pedal for this..... I just can't seem to find what I need:P. Maybe I just need a pup with a mellower output.....

Don't plug the Schecter into the active input of your amp unless the bass has such high output it distorts the passive input. Otherwise you would need a dual input preamp with independent volume controls (there are several to choose from depending on whether you want a pedal or rackmount unit).

Radial Tonebone Bassbone - I use one for exactly the same reason. Plus it has a bunch of other nice features AND it has a very decent DI out

Geesh, I amaze myself sometimes!:P didn't even cross my mind to switch inputs haha.
