Volume Pedal Confusion!

Hey all,

I have been searching the forum and that has only left me more confused than when I started....

I was looking at getting a EB volume pedal so that I could do some swells, etc during a couple songs in our set. I play a passive jazz bass, and my board is currently the following: Octamizer > Pork Loin > Fuzz Machine > Green Russian Reissue > Belle Epoch > H/LPF

If I'm reading into this correctly, I should be looking at either a 250k - 500k model and be running it at the end of my chain?

If anyone can provide some guidance on this, it would be much appreciated! Obviously, the goal is to minimize signal loss and have clean sweeps.

Thanks!

If you run the volume pedal after a buffered signal — an active bass, an always-on preamp or overdrive, an HPF, or a buffered pedal (Boss) — then you want the active, 25K, version. The 250K version is for a non-active or non-buffered signal.

Edit: I originally har the 25K and 250K reversed. Fixed now.

Other way around: 25k for following a buffer & 250k+ for straight out of a passive, high impedance instrument.
