VT Bass Availability?

Ready to ship right now...

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Oops - sorry, I didn't notice you were an Aussie - shipping would be pretty steep from my good 'ol Colorado. They are out there though, and several folks here already have one. I just ordered the single channel pedal - should be here tomorrow - I'm anxious to put it to the test.

The deluxe isn't exactly new - but I've noticed the VT has a little button to turn off speaker emulation these days. Is that what you're referring to?

Interesting - I did not know that. I ordered my standard VT from Drum City Guitar Land, and they were out of stock of these until the one I ordered arrived at their store on Thursday, so hopefully mine will have the new speaker sim off button. Hard to say, the VT photo on DCGL's site is of the old version - guess I'll find out later today when it arrives, & I'll post here to let you know which version they sent me.

VT standard pedal just arrived - NO speaker sim. defeat button. Oh well, time to give 'er a go & see how she sounds.

Where'd you order from? I'm SO not shelling out $270 for a couple of programmable presets I won't need and a DI I already have.

EDIT: Also, on the Tech 21 website, they do show the new VT Bass pedal as having a speaker sim. defeat button, but when you click on the product the picture doesn't show a button. Hmm.

What VT pedal or new gen. or you discussing?

1st Generation: SansAmp VT-Bass Character Series (Discontinued?)
2nd Generation: Sansamp VT-Bass Deluxe Character Series Pedal.

What's new?

I'm looking at [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] page. It shows a new version of the VT Bass Standard with a button that allows the speaker simulation to be turned off. If that gets released anytime soon, I am so all over that. I'd be kind of mad if they discontinued the non-deluxe model. I don't want to pay a ton of money for a bunch of stuff I'm not going to use.

Ordered from Drum City Guitar Land here in Colorado - got the last one (discontinued standard VT pedal) they had, but they get regular shipments of them in every few weeks.

Wow, what a beast it is! Only took me about 10 minutes to dial in a gritty Geddy Lee/Chris Squire sound with my Ric 4003 into my SWR Headlite/ 1 x 15" setup, with a great balance of warmth, articulation and grind - it's everything I hoped it would be. :bassist:

Sorry for the double post, but I just emailed Tech 21 and got a reply. I asked if they were going to have more VT Bass standards with the speaker simulation defeat buttons or if they were discontinuing that model altogether.

Hello Brendan,

The buy now page still needs to be changed. We are all out of the old version. The new one with the speaker emulator as shown on product page won't be available until end of March. The price has also gone up. Please check back around that time.

Sorry for the confusion.

Sincerely,

It is pretty great, isn't it. Suggest you get a power supply -- it'll probably be on most on the time.

There is really not a "new" VT Bass pedal. The 2011 pedals will now include the addition of the speaker simulation defeat switch. This is helpful when using the VT Bass into the front end of an amp that is excessively bright. The newer version should start shipping in the next few weeks.
