What are your experiences with both? I want to use either as a pre amp with my amp set completely flat. What do you think will suit best?

VT Bass Deluxe Vs EBS Microbass II

i've had both. two completely different animals. they both do what they do, with the ebs being more of a clean and near flat device with a heavy rat-like drive circuit in channel 2, and the vtd being an ampeg amp/cab simulator with a warmer tube-like drive. not a lot of overlap, but in the end i sold the microbass and bought the vtd since i like the ampeg tones.
