I posted a "wanted" ad to classifieds and a member was kind enough to point me here.... I'm ready to buy my first Wal: ideally fretted 5 Mk2 but open to 4 strings. Hoping for an all original Wal with no history of repairs or issues. If you have one you're ready to pass on, please PM as I'm ready to make a decision.
You just gotta keep an eye out, they aren't that difficult to find.
It was string change and setup day and some dialing in.
And I decided to put it back up on the market.......anyone interested in an MK2 4 string and have a MK2 or MK3 5er for trade??? Get in touch......unless of course you've got an Alleva Coppolo, Fodera, or possibly an F-Bass...I'll listen to those trades too.

Anyone know where to get a de-tuner that matches the back/silver tuners on a mk3? They look like unbranded Hipshot Ultra-lights but I can't find any place that has the combo black/silver style Wal uses. I've thought about buying a black or silver one and just taking them apart and mixing/matching them back together but I'd rather just buy one.
Contact hipshot. You might be able to special-order it that way and they may be able to put it together for you, instead of buying it through Paul at Wal
Thanks. I actually didn't know Wal even sold a de-tuner directly. I might just check and see what it'd cost from them.
I would get it from Hipshot directly. you got to keep in mind Paul does not make the tuners. he gets them from hipshot so you would be paying the fees that he pays to get him to England and then you got to pay for the fees and shipping to get it back to the US.
Sure, but that assumes Hipshot actually has them and will sell me one. I emailed them and asked but considering nothing like that is on their site or any other sites, I might not have a choice.
I'm pretty sure they'll oblige. it'll have to be a special order like I mentioned. I've dealt with them regarding special items and they've always been good to me.

If you look at Hipshots FAQ section there is mention somewhere in there of the combo colored tuners, you just have to specify, and they charge you the same upcharge cost as a black tuner.
