Not at all a fan of natural finishes. But, every once in awhile, something comes along that's a total home run. This is among them. Beautiful work, mate!

I like your neck shaping jig and the way it mounts to your workbench.

All the work is done in the workshop at the luthier education, everything by hand, a lot of the tools we use, like this neck jig is made by themselves. Works very well!

Thank you! Ebony isn’t the most common wood for the top and quite hard to plane… but the result is worth it!

What preamp and PU's are you going for?

Did the same as you with the Lustithand MkII and English Turners. I'm just glad I nailed the pickup placement with what Warmoth was able to custom cut lol. Did you find that you had to adjust the Lusithand trim pots to match the Wal filter resonance bumps?

I haven't adjust them yet, they sound fine to me like they are adjusted now, but i'll give them a turn soon to see if i can come even closer to the Wal settings

I finally installed a transformer to get the balanced XLR output working, and it works!

Nice. I’ve got one bass with Heartfield electronics that have the XLR output which I hooked up and it seems to work. I’ve never used it other than testing it but I feel cool for having it.

Exactly! the Neutrik is cheap and quiet, there a 10nF cap between the ground of the Jack and the XLR. works fine!

I've used the XLR of my real Wals in the studio, my effects on the jack, XRL right into the desk and a mic before the cab. works great!

My dear friend and extraordinary bassplayer Barend Tromp offered to make a demo video of my bass!
I'm very happy with the result, Barend played some killer grooves and is able to really push an instrument to the limits!

Incredible job. Very cool that you're acquainted with Barend Tromp, and that he was able to make a demo video for this bass.

Barend is a long time friend of me. Back in the 90’s we had an experimental band where Barend played the Chapman stick (and also guitar). Myself on bass. He’s an incredible musician!
I had the knobs custom made by a metal worker. He latched these from aluminum and I had them black anodized.

Very cool. Did you guys make any recordings? I'd be very interested in hearing them. I learned of a great experimental band called Thinking Plague when corresponding with the late and great luthier, Harry Fleishman.

They look great. I didn't realize that Luisthand sold knobs. I ordered a set along with preamps recently.
