So just off the phone with Mesa. Basically the Tech told me I was dumb and should have bought an 8 ohm Scout. My crime - attaching an 8 ohm Bag End to the Ext cab output and expecting to get sound.
OK to back up a bit. I have 4 ohm WA Scout. I attach 8 ohm Bag End. Amp turns on but no sound. There is a bit of a nasty electronic fart and I shut it down quick. Turn on with combo only and all is well. Disconnect combo internal speaker and connect Bag End with same cord to main speaker jack and it works fine.
So, all components work BUT not together. From everything I have read on TB, this set up should be fine.
Tech told me I was a plonker for expecting it to work. He was not terribly supportive to say the least!
Anyone have any insight? Prob with ext jack socket perhaps?
The combo did have a family of field mice leap out of the port pretty swiftly but that was a while back!!
