Yea, it's basically a decision between Metronome (Rehearsal) or IR/Cabsim (Element)

@TaylorJ At the end of the day they're both board friendly headphone amps that take an Aux In directly or by bluetooth - it's the additional features and use cases that differentiates the two.

The Rehearsal seems aimed at solo practice, with a built in metronome and multiple ways to control that tempo (tap, dial, midi connections)

The Element doesn't have any baked in metronome or timing, but instead leans towards ampless playing and maybe even recording with IR/cabsim features and DI.

Thanks! I've noticed that the Element isn't for sale at places like sweetwater that sell other DarkGlass pedals? Any reason for that?

@TaylorJ Little bit of googling suggests the Element has been discontinued? Not sure. It was originally a one off they were using at NAMM that they eventually brought to market after people loved them. Maybe there's another in development, but if it was close to being released you'd think you might've heard some rumbles around NAMM again. Not sure what the future holds for the Element.

So after spending some time researching those three pedals today - Element, Rehearsal, and SaturnWorks, I think I've landed on the Element. Probably try to track down a used one. Quick question if you have used one: Is it possible to use the pedal without any cab sims when you want? At times I'd like to just come out of my board and practice quietly with some backing tracks. Does the Element add any color if you use it this way?

There are 5+1 presets on the Element. The +1 being no effects at all.

Even if you don't use the Cabsim, the presets may be nice for some EQ and a noise gate. You can toggle on a basic amp sim, EQ, noise gate, and cab sim and use any of them (or not) for any preset.

Arrived today. The Element is a nice pedal. Should have picked one up sooner! Bluetooth backing tracks to the Element. Pedalboard with Shure wireless plugged in. Xvive U4 plugged in for wireless IEM. Practice in the evening sitting on the couch and bother no one. Love it!

It got the hp out aux in , somewhat ok DI, EQ, overdrive and some cab options

The only pedal i ever managed to fry was a Canvas Tuner. 9 v, all i did was toggle to switch the display 180’. i had been using it with the top jacks to the rear of the board, i flipped the pedal so the jacks faced the front of the board, went into Mode, switched to 180, and that smell…I had a used Small Trees pedal fail immediately, but the Canvas pedal failed after a month, and all i did was toggle the aspect. Sent it back to the Candy People, the replacement is on my board now because i can have top jacks facing me and see the display right side up. That’s a ton of cash.

I bought this the other month. Does what it says. Just a simple headphone amp with aux in. A few switches to toggle mono and stereo and things like that.
