Are you talking about actual knob or the potentiometer? Is the pot scratchy? Spraying Deoxit 5 into the pot would be your first step.

Personally, I wouldn't even consider allempting to swap out a pot on of his vertically mounted preamps. Walter would be the one to contact after using Deoxit.
