And yeah, the people attacking Chiles personally...well, I wouldn't expect people like that to have the decency to be ashamed of themselves, or to have any decency at all.

It wouldn't surprise me if she was singlehandedly responsible for breakdancing not being included in the 2028 games. It also wouldn't surprise me if she loses her university lecturing job (apparently one of her main fields of interest is the "cultural politics of breaking").

Ban her from the Olympics and give her a Netflix special. I'd watch another hour of whatever the heck that was.

According to multiple reports I've seen today, the US gym folks claim to have time-stamped video showing the appeal was filed well under the 1-minute cutoff. This could end up going from the Court of Arbitration for Sport to further courtrooms, with lawyers and such.

From the Associated Press:

USA Gymnastics disputed the timing, saying in a statement Sunday that the agency submitted video evidence to CAS that showed Team USA coach Cecile Landi first appealed 13 seconds before the deadline.

The dispute over such minute details sets up what could be a months- or years-long legal battle over the gymnastics scores.
