Want to try La Bella flats - LTF vs. DTF

That's a good chart. I have the Chromes on one fretless and the LTFs on my P bass clone. I'm curious about the lighter tension versions of the D'Addario Chromes, there are two available. There's the super light and the special light. The super light has tension similar to round wounds, possibly as low as the TI Jazz Flats. I have seen comments on TB with some saying they are too flexible. Any input on this?

And TI Jazz Flats JF344

A1/.070/31.30lbf
D2/.056/37.47lbf
G2/.043/37.03lbf

TT = 140.00lbf

As can be seen, the TI Jazz flats have considerably less tension than both of the Chromes sets. Not to mention the greater flexibility and suppleness due to contruction.

Thank you very much for that info. I have Sadowsky Black Label SS medium rounds now, came with my MetroExpress 4 string. Sadowsky doesn't publish tension data, but they are hex core, tapered core strings. If I had to guess I would think they'd total 150 - 160 lbs total tension? Do you have any info, anything you're ever seen on these?

No info on Sadowsky's.
michael_t might though

A set of custom Chromes singles in the following gauges, gets you closer to the total tension of TI's and La Bella LTF's ( total tension of LTF-4A at 34" scale = 139.90lbf) but of course will not feel as flexible or supple as those strings)
