Wanted: mid-heavy sound for P.

You are trying a lot of strings. Kudos. It's the only way to find out what works for you.

Now, there's been mention of TI flats early in the thread, and that they don't do it for you, but have you tried any of the TI round wounds? I think they make three different types: Jazz Rounds; Superalloys; and Powerbass.

I only mention these as something else to try, particularly as you bring up carpal tunnel syndrome (I have no direct experience with any of them, although I do have a set of Superalloys I've been meaning to put on my twin-P Vantage, but alas, they are still in the package), and I assume they are as low (or even lower ) tension as the flats.

I'd suggest you try some Ken Smith Compressors (which I think would be the same/similar to GHS Pressure wounds)

You've tried a lot of strings that I have tried to, so I'm thinking you may possibly like these too. The tension is pretty easy on the hands too. Maybe try the lighter gauge to be safe.

Tried out the GHS flats. Nice thick low end tone, but too much tension. Might try those in the future with a light gauge.

So I put the SIT power wounds on it and took it out to band practice. No problem getting a hearty tone out of it through the mix, without cranking on the low end of the amps.
Hella mother of a bark out of these by digging in, to the point I actually had to back off to make it play nice. Guitarist even complemented on the tone

So just for fun update, still using the SIT Power Wounds! I have enjoyed the tone and presence out of these so much, the next set will be the same if these ever die
